Cboe is one of the world's largest exchange holding companies, providing cutting-edge trading and investment solutions to investors around the world. Cboe offers trading across a diverse range of products in multiple asset classes and geographies, including options, futures, U.S. and European equities, exchange-traded products (ETPs), global foreign exchange (FX), and multi-asset volatility products.
In 2017, having identified the need to move to larger premises due to rapid growth, Cboe moved into their new offices on the 5th floor of The Monument Building in the heart of London. Cboe enlisted the help of Focus 21 Visual Communications (now part of AVMI) to ensure their new office provided an audio-visual solution that allowed for seamless communication between Cboe’s global offices and offered a modern, flexible and straightforward way of working for all staff, whilst ensuring that the new fit out of the office space didn’t compromise on the stunning views from the fifth-floor of this prestigious building. Cboe were keen to provide staff with an environment that meant going to the office was a pleasure and that visitors to the office would feel comfortable but be equally impressed by the space and the views.
When you enter the fifth-floor offices, you can't help but be impressed by the reception area with its ticker running across the top of a feature wall showing real-time exchange information. The visitor meeting room sits adjacent to the reception area. This beautiful space has smoked glass walls that hint at the large monitoring wall behind. The room itself holds a 70" NEC display, conferencing facilities, and seating for ten guests.
The main boardroom showcases a 90” NEC LED panel supported by two columns to ensure the views from the windows are not compromised. When Focus 21 entered the meeting space for the first time they knew they needed to preserve the view, and the final solution is stunning. The impressive table, with seating for 18, has embedded microphones and a central Creston control panel, making the user experience seamless.
A further meeting room cleverly opens up to the large tea point to create a stunning event space with its own terrace for entertaining purposes. The area includes an impressive 70" display, video conferencing solution, and ceiling speakers, that reach out to the entertaining space. The environment is perfect for company-wide meetings and company announcements and is a triumph to the consultants involved in its remodeling.
The remaining two small meeting rooms are equipped with 50” displays, delivering a video conferencing visual interface to enable employees to interact and collaborate with remote participants in other locations, such as the Cboe offices in Chicago, Kansas City, Singapore, and New York. Video conferencing is a huge part of how this organisation functions and the Cisco codec offers them the quality of call needed to collaborate effectively.
The main office space contains a mission-critical monitoring wall, made up of sixteen 46” LED screens in an 8 x 2 format, with two further video walls made up of 2 x 2 screens displayed on the opposite side behind the main monitoring wall.
Focus 21 understood that these screens needed to run 24/7 and that the signage solution had to be beyond robust.
Focus 21 coordinated with Peldon Rose to ensure that the positioning of the large video wall was delivered accurately with minimal disruption to the fit-out programme.
Throughout the office, the Cboe team with Focus 21’s help, have created a signage solution which lets staff pick and choose what is being shown on the screens nearest to them, allowing employees to feel more comfortable in the space provided.
The complete fit-out represents a sophisticated modern workspace that embraces technology and communication and puts it at the core of the business.
